I am not an officer so no idea how on edge you might be with events that happened in your life. I work in an industry that you do need your whit's about you. My calmness has almost got me killed many times but also saved some lives along the way. There is no amount of training that can help when shit hits the fan, you are ether born a hero or a coward. I have seen it to much. Also, adults with CPTSD struggle greatly with triggers, that if not addressed can debilitate them. Also, police diets are abominable. In our county, most if not all officers are obese. I have yet to see one fit and trim. This can mean that cortisol levels are too high from stress, and they are eating too much restaurant foods that literally contain no true value and are filled with processed salt and toxic, rancid vegetable oils. This diet plus stress really messes up your endocrine system. I know, I've been there most of my life. What has helped me deal with cortisol issues and endocrine issues the most has been what I eat and don't eat. Butter, eating it cold, has been the greatest thing to fight my sugar cravings and it lowers cortisol levels. Going Keto would be the best for these guys dealing with chronic stress. One of the first things I'd tell those whom I was training was that the job isn't for everyone. If they ever began to question themselves or feel that the job wasn't for them then they just needed to go ahead & quit. I would tell them that there's no harm in doing so because it's better for them to go ahead & leave rather than stay & get themselves or someone else seriously hurt or killed. To a certain extent I can understand him being apprehensive since there was all this talk about the guy having firearms & suppressors but he did search the suspect before placing him in the back of the patrol unit. Yes there have been several incidents over the years where a suspect wasn't patted down properly & had a firearm on them, suspects being able to get out of their restraints & suspects stealing police vehicles but if you did your job correctly the first time then you would know with confidence that the suspect had no firearms in their possession. In the end he did the right thing by going on ahead & resigning & is seriously lucky that his actions didn't come at a cost of another's life.>> <<@douglasphillips24 says : APB on squirrel who threw that deadly assault acorn.
