Since then, I have witnessed this false narrative as it has evolved into an incredible array of attacks alleging every conceivable accusation one could possibly imagine - all backed up by a star studded cast of powerful men and women backed by the (then) respected agencies they represent. Surely, many of you here have watched along with me throughout this mind numbing series of 'over the top' attacks against President Trump's character, loyalty and general electability for nearly a solid DECADE. We've had little choice but to watch, since the "Main Steam Media" has been an all too willing participant in promoting the legitimacy of each accusation as it is made and delivered through their coordinated efforts to "inform" the public. I'm 71 now and I've never seen anything like this in my entire life. I've never been fond of "Big Government" and it's tendency to place it's OWN interests ahead of The People's when they differ - but this goes FAR BEYOND any difference of priorities between The People and an elected government's leadership. This is more like the difference between an obnoxious landlord and living with a serial killer. Unfortunately, that comparison is not nearly as hyperbolic as the words alone might imply. They've shown they'd completely SILENCE us and incarcerate Trump forever. It has gotten SO BAD now, that the current administration seeks to legally control what opinions we can publicly speak, who's opinions we can access on media, who we are allowed to elect, who we can contradict, what our children are taught in school, to what degree we can secure our own border against illegal entry - even whether we can defend our own homes and family with lethal force, if necessary, to thwart a physical attack by intruders or whether we can even OWN a gun sufficient to meet such an attack. In short, powerful elements within our own government are now emboldened enough to seek to transform our government into one that can impose IT'S will upon "The People's" will by eliminating (or drastically reducing) our ability to challenge, form a consensus or access information from others that would add weight to any claims that imply our government is acting against best interests and welfare of The People. Indeed, if such a person publicly brings any such claims to seek election so that he or she can work to right these wrongs, that person will be disallowed or otherwise prevented from running - and WE will loose the ability to choose him. That's our current reality. Years ago, when I was still quite young, a man who had escaped Russia to live here told me that America currently has the most freedom to offer its citizens - BUT he then qualified that statement with the sobering truth that even though the Citizens vote to elect those who govern them, it can easily devolve into a situation where the ruling class simply chooses TWO people they control... and let's you pick. Sadly, it turns out we were already past that point at the time that statement was made - just before they shot JFK. I wonder how many of you good people also observed the unfolding of these events as I did - and are equally as aghast as I am at what our government has become while they rocked us all to sleep. I think we have no choice but to resist having our freedoms dismantled and our voices forever silenced. if not, our children may never know what real freedom is. I make no claim to know WHAT course we must take to secure our salvation from this horrific descent into tyranny - only that the journey must be made, lest all that we hold dear be forever lost and our children never know the sweet taste of freedom. We must set aside our differences and act as one to preserve our Constitution - as our Founding Fathers drafted it - and return us to a Government that is OF, BY AND FOR THE PEOPLE... no matter the cost or effort.
