I feel that you didn’t talk much about the fact that many countries don’t honor their trade deals (KORUS trade deal has been violated by Korea multiple times) and especially large corporations shut down facilities to avoid paying workers good wages and they can pay workers in poor countries less and offer cheap goods. The question is who can buy cheap goods when no one has a job? The China topic was valid because once China started to jeopardize the US leadership, the US grew concerned about sending jobs overseas. Before Xi Jinping, no one cared about China rising.

Why is it so important to be on top of everything, even at the expense of destroying the other countries ? Why can't people just work together and helping each other as human beings regardless of race , religion and nation ? What is the purpose of being the hargemonic nation? To bully other nations and countries so that they would be subservient to you is such a demonic intent. Only people with no souls or without a pinch of humanity would manifest such evilness . Thus to the extent of supporting and enabling the slaughter of children and their parents are considered okay and necessary. This is the highest level of evilness and barbarism and much worse its happening in this century of a modern era , seeing in 4K right in front their eyes. The world stood by as though it's not happening. Such a pathetic state of an affair of present nations.

The problem with the economy was and is that it got bastardised into some utopia. What it SHOULD work like is thst we produce what we can and need ourselves and basically subsidise the lack of goods with imports and an access with exports. instead of keeping the economy within the countries stable, it was a race for the cheapest prices. Countries COULD produce what they needed but decided to shift their capacities to whatever fetches the highest prices on the market. and this specifically is why the inflation is so bad right now. if you don't have the capacity to produce what you need anymore, those who do can ask for whichever price they want

But my primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $240k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I'm all in on the long term game, but with my savings are lying waste to inflation and my portfolio losing gains everyday, I need a remedy.

More Propaganda by Jonny Harris against China. There were many other countries that did not go from poverty to global super power. US only plays a small part of enriching China. There were many many other factors not covered here why China is the 2nd largest economy today. Similarly US economy slow down was not caused by China. This video is just over simplying global trade and economics painting China as the villain who stole the US economy.

Wait, freeze! You said that free trade was eradicating Global poverty? That's not completely true now is it it was making the United States poor. Touched on it for a moment, but you didn't continue down the rabbit hole.? Free trade destroy the United States and its citizens. Then the world who thought we lived in the 80s was allowed to come in through the borders thinking they were going to get jobs.. but the United States was already decimated. There was an influx of homeless that turned to drugs. Crazy people who are starving, are left living on the street millions will die here. That is the hope of free trade . Good for everyone else not for the US..

Very good video. But you're wrong on a few things. One being point #2 where climate is an issue. It's actually protectionism that is slowing down our shift to green energy. Our government doesn't care about eliminating emissions as quickly as possible; it cares about US companies making all of the products which eliminate emissions. If we were truly worried about an existential climate crisis, there wouldn't be 450% tariffs on solar panels from China, or similar tariffs for the majority of other countries. This is what keeps solar products so expensive and difficult to implement without government support, while china is shutting down some of its factories due to a surplus of panels that they cannot find buyers for. The climate argument is about shoveling profits to specific political donors, not "saving the planet." I do understand the security issues regarding chips. The USA is worried China is going to take back Taiwan. And we have become unfavorable to China with it rising up so fast. The USA has enjoyed lack of rivalry since the Soviet Union collapsed and doesn't like another country working hard to do better than we do. So we're playing dirty games to try to undermine them. And the end result is that we need to bring some manufacturing back home for security issues. If our country really wants to go to war, it can be caught with its pants down on the latest military technology. But why are we setting the stage for fighting? It looks like another typical power struggle between the elite.

This is really complex and it takes a good economist to explain it all. To start, it is at least partly about supply and demand, and competition. We must stay competitive by making higher quality and more cost effective products. It’s not just about moving the factories back. If it costs 2-3x as much for an American worker to produce the same product, the American consumer will pay 2-3x more to buy American, effectively making ourselves poorer. The hope to bring back jobs without making some sacrifice is wishful thinking because there is already another country that could do it better or for less. For this reason, there may not be the demand to buy the more expensive American products except Americans.

Taiwan essentially built their economy on microchips and if microchips move out of taiwan, there will be no need to defend Taiwan. Even currently Taiwanese citizens are facing economic issues as microchip production is being moved to the United States, stagnating wages and high unemployment is causing issues for Taiwan and potentially they may elect someone who is pro unification if we continue to move microchips out of Taiwan in order to be entangled with a much more economically strong neighbor. However, this will result in the nation of Taiwan and its people that have grown up enjoying democracy.

Free trade turns a blind eye to exploitation in foreign lands. In the limit, you import exploitation and may as well throw away your constitution. Therefore free trade is only truly possible to the extent the participant constitutions are compatible. ‘’Free” is just marketing, in reality democracy is costly. Life itself would not be possible without that incredible biological invention: the cell membrane. Without this protection cells loose their integrity and die.
