Nonetheless, the prosecution still proved their case. And this is what Letitia James is saying here - that the prosecution didn't need to prove the case, but they did. They showed the duration, scale, and systematic nature of the fraud - Trump hoped to conceal by taking the adverse inference. It didn't work because they subpoenaed Masers - Trump's accountant. There's also the angle that, useful idiots would pick up on this, having been told repeatedly by Trump that the trial was unfair, and politically motivated. But what you're actually seeing is like that guy, who was disrupting the court so they had him bound and gagged. He then says, "Look - they had me bound and gagged, it's a bogus trial."
