The mother was a rocket scientist that work in the bakery. Their daughter worked there as well. We were the same age and friends. She told me their degrees were basically unusable in the US. I am by no means well versed on what requirements those careers would need when moving countries but when I asked I got the feeling it mostly came down to time and money. If they wanted to go back they would have to do extra schooling. I learned from them about the war. You also have to know our history in order to grasp it. I'm Bosnian with mixed ancestry, who doesn't choose sides and who's pretty unbiased and all I can tell you is that people were brainwashed on all sides and fought each other for some idiots' interests and all sides were guilty. Second, you are right that UN did nothing but when and where UN actually did something...
