There’s nothing fundamentally wrong with hydrocarbons. It’s just where we get them. Getting old carbon that’s been stored underground for the past 300 million years is not good. Plants produced more oxygen which in turn allowed animals to grow exponentially. The ppm today's is 419, during the cambrian was 4000, yeah almost 10 times as much. The issues is not co2 but the sun that burns hotter then even recorded.
