Affirmative Action has help start to referse some of the systemic racism against minorities, and while there are a minority of people who feel aggrieved by it, I don't see it as a true major driver of racism either. Also, while it certainly is not anything systemic, there very much is wide spread racism against white people in this country. It's not the horrific police brutality or financial blackballing that is the very definition of systemic racism. It's more in the form of microagressions such as the weaponisation of the Karen means, while those in the videos are legitimately out of line, I've watched white women in grocery stores, in public trasit, or in a union convetion discussion get called Karen, almost as a slur, for simply disagreeing with the minority person they are speaking with or saying something they don't like. Another example ive experienced many times living in a predominantly Hispanic area would bexpeople seemingly intentionally trying to play some bizarre game of chicken with you veering in to cause a colition when passing by or spreading out in a group to leave no walk space to pass by. Whether you just move out of the way, or chose to not play the game and continue to walk in the path you were on and regardless of if a shoulder colision occures, the passing is coupled with dirty looks. I've had people on the bus passive aggressively hit me in the head or even slap my phone out of my hand aggressively on the public transit here in Los Angeles. Then there is the notion that a minority person cantbe racist by vertue of being a minority, which is just faulse logic, which is couple with the notion that being white makes you racist by vertue of being white. It's all petty and ignorant at the end of the day, but its definitely not non existent. Im fortunate the only antisemitism I experienced was in context where I am already known to be Jewish being blonde and blue eyed, but on the flip side, it makes me a bigger target for anti white racism cause I look the part of someone you'd imagine at a Proud Boys rally. While people have a right to feel resentful forsystemic racial injustices done to them or just in their environment, Im in that camp myself having a very ethnic name, it doesn't give the right to mistreat the random white person you come across in the same way a white guy mad he lost his union factory job to the factory moving to Mexico is not entitled to bully the next Hispanic person he meets. Attacking any person for their race is racist regardless of the race, and denies them their humanity while degrading the humaity of the attacker. Being open and honest in the key, and I don't fault you for being honest in this video, and I hope you take my words here in kind and hopefully in respectful understanding of different perspectives we can positively geow our mutual awareness and build bridges to a bright future.
