That is literally why you've been paying for insurance, for the "INSURANCE", right? If you get into an accident and the person that crashed into you doesn't have insurance, why do you get punished? You're insurance should cover everything and you should be able to continue paying the same price that you were paying before the accident! If you've been paying for car insurance for 5-20 years, you've payed enough to get your car fixed 10x over! You're better off keeping that money and paying out of pocket for the repairs. After all, the US is the #1 consumer in the world. And the thing is that everyone else, some 80 years ago --were not major car users, but everyone wants that luxury. As consumers we choose whether to buy gasoline for our cars or use public transportation as much as possible, or bike.
