I have worked outside of the home and I was and still am a traditional wife. I can tell critics that being a stay at home wife and mom is the absolute hardest job there is. You get no break from it. There are no vacation days and you are never done with anything so that feeling of accomplishment in the job is finished never comes. Oh, you got all the laundry done today? Yes, until bath and bedtime. And on it goes. And there's nothing that I could do that was more fulfilling. Moms are literally shaping the future of this country and sadly, most children are being raised by schools and daycare and it shows. I'm not bashing working mom's, many have no choice. The point of the women's movement wasn't to judge traditional women, it was to give women the choice. And as far as the husband being the authority in the home? It was done Biblically for thousands of years. It doesn't make women more prone to abuse. Abusive men can be hit every time you throw a rock! A Biblical husband is not Abusive. The Bible says "wives respect your husband, husband love your wife. Women respond to a loving husband. Don't mock what you don't understand. For some reason people today think "do as I do or you are stupid." THAT has nothing to do with the women's movement. Again, it is about having a choice. I applaud the young people today who have the courage to stand for what they believe and the wisdom to recognize that something went terribly wrong, and we all need to go back to get grounded in Truth. When our son was little and money was tight, he took a second part time job so i could be at home with our son. Been married 35 years. Hes my best friend, we do everything together, still makes me laugh and makes my heart skip a beat.
