So few right wing people actually look into our genetic predispositions. When they do, they tend to pathologize progressivism as being the cause of mental illness, rather than considering the possibility that mentally ill people are typically drawn to progressivism. Ya'll have got to remember, societies were made by humans to facilitate human existence, but that doesn't mean every human born into society is mentally geared for society. We've only had hierarchical societies for about 10,000 years. In the evolutionary sense, that's not a lot of time at all. Our ancestors were hunter-gatherers for a millennia beforehand, and hunter-gatherer societies were much more egalitarian. That's why you see so many educated intellectual types rejecting the concept of hierarchy and advocating for socially engineering equality. It's a deeply ingrained value in our species for a reason, and I'd argue it's a good one. To me, it's more clearly linked to the biology. Basically, there are group-oriented people and selfish people. It's genetic and lines up with conservative and liberal voting patterns. Edward Dutton, the Jolly Heretic, talks about this sort of thing from a evolutionary psychology point of view. If anything, this video actually explores personality differences present in politics. There are numerous demographic differences, i.e. city vs rural, male vs female, old vs young, that seem like much better indicators. Even if you successfully argue for a genetic component, labelling this as "genetically determined" as the title says is misleading.
