The flight attendant should have erred on the side of caution and not make her clean it on her hands and knees like that, because she could've had complications right then and there and the crew wouldn't be able to help her. I would have done it and let the mom sit and tend to her kids. It’s just a kind thing to do. Being pregnant is awkward enough without having to get down on the floor in a cramped space. But with that said, it’s not crazy that a parent has to clean up a child’s mess. The airline could have been more helpful by planning for accidents like this. If you give a kid a bag of popcorn and a juice box, it’s going on the floor sooner or later. High risk pregnancy at five months. Ok every woman is different but why are you traveling alone with two kids? Over reactions all around. AA did the right thing. They saw the kid made a mess and asked the adult to pick it up. Mother should’ve asked for assistance instead of over reacting; because I’m learning towards the mother over reacted. I’ve seen plenty of messing made in planes and made one myself. And the reaction from the staff was the same every time. If I worked on the plane, I would have picked up the popcorn on my own and the captain would never have know of the incident. The only other thing that would change that, would be if the children were having a popcorn fight and making the mess on purpose.
