<<@DellikkilleD says : Are you suffering brain damage? if you deny a flame oxygen, it goes out. You arent 'adding fuel' you are depriving the fire OF fuel.>> <<@wendycregan2147 says : If your really worried about this and willing to put time into an idea for Charlie my mum suggested a back pack made of natural materials ( NO SYNTHETICS!) Preferably bamboo, and try to put your scent on it and a treat in it and everyday put him in it to get him used to it. Don't close it for the first few times till he seems more comfortable and "Don't under any circumstances make a fuss over him!" It will enforce him that it's okay to be scared. But tell him that he's a good boy and don't force him just say we'll try tomorrow. He'll be obviously scared everytime don't give up cause you think it's too much. Do this anyway because of how your apartment is layed out. You have a escape for you and your husband. Charlie deserves his own fire escape ladder. You just need to spent time and patience like you would do if this was a child.>> <<@kennethdimaano says : You have to drench the blanket first to be able to use it as a fireproof shield.>> <<@annharlan8926 says : You can suffocate a fire with a blanket. Sorry John. Take away the oxygen and the fire dies.>> <<@victoriaanderson7954 says : You can snuff out a fire with a blanket or a towel, it depends on the size of the fire and what is causing it. But you never fan any type of flame unless you're trying to encourage it to burn better.>> <<@AngelaKSellsHomes says : I really sympathize as someone who moved their father in a few years ago. Don't forget! The firefighters get to leave. 😂 The people working there are there every day.>> <<@FujishimaAkiko says : Though, unplugging everything you don't use can save you on your electric bill. He may think its not that significant, but I've done it, its not super huge, but 10 dollars less a month is 10 dollars freaking less!...lol! Of course it's going to be different for everyone, depending on how many plugged in electronics you have and cents per kw that you're charged.>> <<@zardozmyrh7789 says : For grease fires you smother it with the lid or dump sodium bicarbonate on the fire you could have mentioned that. There might be some old people watching this broadcast like me I'm 69 disabled in a wheelchair in a nursing home.>> <<@zardozmyrh7789 says : It's amazing to watch deaf people yelling in sign language. They can't hear you idiot how were they supposed to use a conventional fire alarm? They could use flashing lights or vibrators in their beds which might help them have a better physical relationship! ‼️🌎☠️>> <<@niwonahutcherson7752 says : Love the beautiful dog Ana>> <<@dianarockwell6256 says : They are deaf! They can’t hear the alarm!!>> <<@suzannebennett8987 says : Ana, have fire drills. Practice a few times with Charlie!>> <<@nataschavisser573 says : Wait, outlets in the US don't have off switches? I thought that was standard. We even have those in South Africa.>> <<@Chloe7270 says : I can just see someone dowsing Trump with water and he spreads everywhere screaming, "I'm melting!">> <<@JonBroun says : They are in a senior living facility, they definitely have smoke and fire alarms, I am 99% confident UK has about the same fire safety codes as the US.>> <<@timboraymon5302 says : Ana, you might be able to put your dog in a backpack for the fire escape>> <<@tomritchie3408 says : braw wee pup bye the way anna got to love the urbies.>> <<@kasperorganics-organiccott6881 says : You can SMOTHER a small fire with a blanket. It deprives the fire of oxygen.>> <<@marym22 says : They were like we are deaf not stupid. We know how to put out a fire! SUFFOCATION! THEY ARE COMPLETELY RIGHT! THROW A WOOL BLANKET ON THE FIRE. FIRE NEED OXYGEN TO SURVIVE! PLUS DISABLED CITIZENS RELY ON ELECTRONICS MORE THAN NORMIES SO THE FIRE DEPT IS WRONG I cannot unplug my devices I have a call button and many alarms that would have to be reset. I cannot unplug.>> <<@wysgyeman says : In GB, the outlets have an on/off switch. It's easier for them>> <<@harriettubman337 says : 😂😂>> <<@VeracityLH says : Unplug all your electricals just one night and you'll have an appreciation of how ridiculous these seniors thought that was.>> <<@StephBer1 says : A wet blanket would put a fire out in the the "olden days" because the blankets were wool. Wool is a fire retardant. Acrylic blankets would spread the fire.>> <<@metstropolis says : It will still smother the fire, John. If you do it right. If you are on fire, I sure hope you roll yourself up in one. 😊>> <<@ladyliberty5771 says : I've never unplugged, except in kitchen. I recall my Mom unplugging everything and found someone else was using electricity we were paying for. But that was something she was looking for. I starting unplugging kitchen stuffs only b/c a friend of mine's family had an electrical fire. It terrified me.>> <<@TH-eb5ro says : Put the pet in a soft carrier and then put it on your back as a cross body carrier or backpack. Practice now and climb around so they are used to it. I used to practice that with a couple cats. Agreed regarding other countries vs. US. Make sure elders know what to do.>> <<@heidis3993 says : I have had fire ladders in several apartments. They were installed below the window, permanently, in a box.>> <<@davidraya8760 says : You know it's really concerning that everyone in this video, who is talking about fire safety does not know what to do in case a fire breaks out. Firefighters should know their audience. They were I'll prepared, shame on them! There are several smoke detectors made specifically for the deaf, from strobe lights to vibration activated pads placed under a mattress. Many elderly poeple, in fact children and adults die across America because they are not prepared in case a fire breaks out in the home. If you do anything after you read this comment. Please make a plan with your love ones on what to do if a fire breaks out. If you don't have smoke detectors make it the priority to get them! Many fire departments give them away for free. Contact your local fire station members about fire safety. Too many poeple die needlessly... if they only had a working smoke detectors. As a retired firefighter l take issue with TYT making this a light hearted story, shame on you! These people are most likely to die in a house fire!>> <<@TheMargarita1948 says : I wonder if Brits unplug their radio and TV and all their lamps every night. And leaving their stove and refrigerator plugged in.>> <<@barryl.spencer1564 says : I unplug my coffee maker after I've had my coffee. I won't need it until tomorrow. Otherwise most stuff stays plugged in. Make sure there's a fire extinguisher in your home. I have two.>> <<@jmlikesplants says : You absolutely can smother a fire with a blanket. Obviously not a large fire. TYT people often spout their opinions as if they know exactly what is true and what isn't....>> <<@askdoctorwebster says : Always unplug what you can, lol>> <<@askdoctorwebster says : Welcome to my world 🌎>> <<@lesliecarter7605 says : We was told when we was kids any blanket would smother a fire. You would not convince my parents differently. Just like when I took CPR in high school it was so different from what he was taught. Even now CPR is different now>> <<@Foresight_Dreamer says : How can they hear the fire alarm if they are deaf??>> <<@argon6548 says : Blankets are a legit way to smother a fire if they are wool, which doesn't burn easily, don't mock old people. But the old guy did say to fan it with a towel, he was definately confused!>> <<@johnhazell28 says : nah, trump is more like a gremlin, Dont throw water on him or feed him after midnight!>> <<@catherinewilson9894 says : Charlie ❤❤❤❤❤❤>> <<@JohnPerez-yu4rd says : ****** I don't understand. They are deaf, how would they hear the fire alarm?>> <<@tonyradmilovich3154 says : I stand with the old folks! Throwing a blanket on a fire is fine if that's all you have on hand. just make sure you completely surround it. It's all about depriving the fire of oxygen.>> <<@tonyradmilovich3154 says : Hats off to the firefighters for at least knowing ASL.>> <<@bucky8457 says : You can buy a timed switch/plug for things you want to use at certain times like a coffee pot to avoid it using power as much but you don't have to plug it back in later. They also sell surge protectors that certain switches only turn on when the main plug is powered on IE being plugged into a lamp. It's worth a thought for convenience but also being mindful about power consumption>> <<@janemiettinen5176 says : Ana, in case of fire, you should stay in your apartment. If you cant, youll stuff Charlie in a backpack and go. Let him freak out, it wont last long and its better than being dead. I would store suitable bag with the escape ladder. Greetings from a former vet tech :)>> <<@snellsnell7490 says : If you wet a towel or a blanket first then you can put out a fire it won’t burn through the water soaked material>> <<@snellsnell7490 says : Plus in England they have a switch next to their plug why you would have to unplug as well as turn off the switch we just have open immediate power on when we plug things in the United States and in England all power outlets have switch like them>> <<@allank.8218 says : What?? You don't have power switches at power points? That's crazy!!! I'm guessing the Edison lobbied for that>> <<@rudykrutar3319 says : UK has 240 volt house current, which is dangerous, especially to Americans.>> <<@rudykrutar3319 says : Why would you have a fire alarm if you are deaf and cannot hear it? Fnd a better solution.>> <<@lyannatargaryen3223 says : They make special smoke detectors for people who are Deaf that visually alert them or vibrate so they don't have to rely on hearing.>> <<@noahhorst8288 says : I love y’all, but even a wool blanket can put out a fire if done quickly. You have to starve the fire of oxygen. And if you do it quick enough the blanket does not catch fire>>
