It’s pretty wild to me that all the polling shows the majority of Canadians cannot keep up with inflation and there are still people here in the comments acting like I’m insane for pointing this out. OF COURSE 100k is a lot of money. Of course anyone on that is very privileged. That’s the point! The fact that someone in a very privileged position is even capable of living in a major Canadian city with very little savings left and fairly reasonable spending is a bad omen for all of us. ESPECIALLY Canadians on normal wages, who unlike people on 100k are suffering the brunt of inflations consequences. This is not a video about how hard people on 100k have it lol, it’s a video on how freaking bad the Liberals have screwed up the economy. Hope you're all holding up well, and for those of you who have left Canada, moved to small towns etc. good for you! PS. As usual a big thank you to today's sponsor for giving me the time to spend hours making this ~ you can check out Noble Gold at https://tinyurl.com/86nuam7s or CALL +1 877 646 5347

Listening to those statistics, I think that the new Canadian National Anthem should be Uh-oh Canada! I actually to offset expenses invested in the stock market and pay into that like I would pay into my bills and do my best to put in at least 20% after stock analysis and 1 grand turned into 10 grand fairly fast and now it is having more of a snowball effect which is nice. There are some very occasional gems you can find renting even in the GVA but they go so fast, I literally refreshed my browser every few seconds, had a letter ready to copy and paste and send right away and I did not always get the great deal in time but a lot faster and more often than most.

Add being disabled into the situation too lol. We get $1400/month (most expensive province) and get penalized for living with other people because we obviously cannot afford our own rent.

Great breakdown! But let's say Chad has a wife who brings in 50,000/year; if they only live off Chad's income as a couple, they could potentially save the entirety of Chad's wife's salary. Additionally, they could buy a piece of land somewhere super remote and build a house there from scratch - it sucks, but it is what it is. Hopefully, Chad will inherit at least something from his family once his parents will pass away. If Chad's parents owned a house, he could be inheriting that 1M home once he gets old.

I'm torn on this. I personally make well over the average and due to inflation and healthcare here in the US, my family has nothing to show for it at the end of the month. So, how are my kids supposed to make it happen? But on the other hand, I didn't pay $200 a month in online subscriptions, I didn't buy a car I couldn't afford, and I didn't eat out where it was expensive because my friends expected me to. When I needed a house, I moved to a community I could afford, and I didn't sit around and cry about the fact that I couldn't afford to live right in the downtown area right next to my office location. I think a big part of young people struggling is based on high expectations. We always say, if adults can't afford a house, then how can their adult children. Well, most of us can afford our house and it's not our first home. We started small with what we could afford and built-up equity. There are still affordable homes in small towns and on the outskirts of the cities. But they don't want to live there, do they? And why do so many people buy at the top of the market? Have to own new cars? Can't give up their Apple/Disney/Hulu/Netflix/Prime + 10 others? I'm not saying it's not tough, but when you're not willing to adapt don't look for sympathy or for the world to bend to your will.

Lauren, it's not just the politicians.... It's also the interests that want you to be a tenant class. Neo-peasantry is a thing and it's happening a lot in the West. Meanwhile here in Romania home ownership rates are sky-high. It's also Western pretentiousness and entitlement. Why does a happy life NECESSARILY have to happen in a metro area? Our home ownership rates are pretty high because a lot of young people are moving *out* of metro areas that have pretty high property prices and into the country or cheaper suburbs (those exist because we weren't complete morons that created a White Flight by shoveling criminals and unpleasant people into the cities). A lot had to come together for this to happen, and all of it is leading to the majority of Western nations becoming complete tenant states with quasi-feudal ways of life that resemble more the France of Louis XIV than what so-called "Republican Revolutions" around the world wanted to achieve. Don't ask "qui bono" to this either, if you don't want to find out the answer. It's actually rather unpleasant, and the solution to it may make you squeamish. Trust me, we've been through it and had to do that to get out of this situation.

I have worked my dick off my entire life attempting to escape the drudgery of grinding your soul into the ground doing some horrible "high paid" job ie skilled carpenter, machinist, I was in finance for a while, etc. These jobs left me a suicidal husk of a human, but hey, gotta eat. The problem is though that in the past I barely struggled by, now if I go back to carpentry, not only will I want to die but I will not be able to afford rent. All of the shitty jobs I have done I did to afford me the chance to pursue what I have actually devoted my entire life to, which is art, monetized in the form of tattoos. I have a relatively low cost of living, rent for shop space to tattoo is 700/mo, I have built and flipped 3 tiny houses as a side hustle and currently live in a half finished tiny house of my own making(half finished because with inflation I never make enough off the last one to get as far with the next one) and I have the good fortune of having a close friend who inherited property, so rent is 450/mo, all my other expenses are the same as anyone in vancouver, apart from food, food in tofino is like double. as a tattoo artist, which is supposed to be an extremely lucrative job, I cant afford the rent for my shop, Im behind on rent for my home, I have been driving for 3 months without insurance and my meals for today will be a cup of coffee, and whatever is left in an old jar of pickles that was left in my fridge. probably time to either go feral and loot or suicide and let the overlords have this world.

You're a very insightful smart young woman, I just wish the rest of the Canadian youth were as smart! Young people are typically "Liberal" by nature as they are students in a Liberal educational system, they voted for a guy with nice hair and a " cool" attitude instead of using their brain as you have with this simple math to survival in todays Canada. I'm amazed Trudeau is still in power ...not sure what's going to be left when he's done this term? and shame on us if we vote for him again!

while were on the way of talking about corrupt politicians can we also fix the voting system here, the fact 3 cities have all the power is ridiculous, ofcourse no one wants to vote and we have some of the lowest voting percentage in the world. 90% of peoples votes dont matter, why do 3 cities elect a MP while the whole country's left to die
