I seen this video (police interaction) that shows a black woman call for police services because she felt a white man was acosting her with "statements of hate" and as she's black, it's "hate speech" the man informed the police that he was simply repeating back what she was saying but adjusting it to the person that said it. So if it's hate speech, she's also guilty of it. Through out history the term “whiteness” has been more associated with an arbitrary power structure. 70 years ago in this country I wouldn’t have been considered white because of my Irish decent. The reason why colleges tend to be a lot more left wing is because left wingers tend to be more intellectually curious, have more of an understanding of systems. College also puts in you in spaces where you’re surrounded by people of different races, sexuality, gender presentations, and cultural backgrounds. These kind of classes are always filled with concrete statements that blanket over their subjects of the studies.
