Instead they invented "Old Man Frost". Because Santa was too associated with classical Christmas which was too associated with Jesus. And they didn't want Jesus. Isn't that wild? XD>> <<@damien4969 says : Cancel culture isn’t real and 5 people saying something dumb isn’t news.>> <<@lukeroberts914 says : Maybe they should not go outside as the world is full of lies and disappointment. At the very least, santa is an anagram for satan.>> <<@jrr2480 says : There was a real Santa Claus 🎅 , he was Saint Nicholas. He existed in the time period when Rome became christianized. His legend evolved over time and in different ways depending on what nation was telling his story. Also, the more magical aspect of him was from surten cultures merging their local myths into his story.>> <<@bazerger6258 says : I've never seen the "from santa" tradition in my country, my gifts were labeled from being who they were from, we just had "santa visits" instead. Might also be why you've figured out on your own it's not real, so early in your life that it doesn't even commit to your permanent memory... or we're just less disposed to believing BS, given we're also less religious generally, especially compared to the US.>> <<@MothOnWall says : Someone should tell her Christians don't do the Santa thing either, and watch her whiplash so hard her head pops off her shoulders, hits the grounds and shatters like a light bulb.>> <<@bahamutkod says : ...there's a Tranta? Why am I giving credit to a fictional White dude?" Holy shit. My kid's most expensive gift was this cool train set and it's damn near the only thing he asked Santa for. Why would I let him believe that Santa ignored him and I did it? What kind of psycho does that?>> <<@ptroy72blue says : I know I'm going to get hell for saying this but yeah I kind of think its weird.... Santa is Made up nonsense and I was thinking the same thing ... did I ruin it for my children no no I didn't but I have been thinking about this because children, mine especially and my neighors children are constantly bombarded with fantasy nonsese ALL THE TIME! its on 24x7! Its not the same from when I was growing OK a little Santa/Superman thats it but now its and endless supply of fantasy, I think my daughter thinks Elsa is real, there are magical cystals in the woods, etc etc.... ok let me have it :)>> <<@ThePhobos100 says : this woke is getting cancerous>> <<@whothefux3105 says : Woke people are ok with kids identifying as a toaster but Santa that’s just too far we can’t be lying to kids.>> <<@LakituKoopa says : Yeah, Santa isn't real but "changing your gender" and "tRaNsGeNdEr" is. Yeah they buy presents, but the kids get one present, not two.>> <<@b.calvinsaul1909 says : Yeah, I think Bearing said it best. This is just "asshole parenting". Denying that bit of joy, magic, and wonder from your children, so that you can get the credit of giving them the gifts is such a selfish, narcissistic thing to do.>> <<@jennyhildebrand9335 says : Cheap parents Don't want to spend the money!>> <<@mariobotelho32 says : My God, southern Utah... We never did Santa. We celebrated Jesus’ birth instead. Santa was a fun story, but not the reason for Christmas. I actually remember refusing a gift from an aunt when I was maybe 5, because it said it was from Santa. I just told I couldn’t take it because Santa isn’t real. Can you tell I was a bit of brat as a child? Lol. Now as a Christian adult with perspective, I don’t mind telling kids about Santa, in general. I simply wouldn’t emphasize him as why we celebrate Christmas. To each their own.>> <<@kylesmith7413 says : Alright, I'm going super critical. Look here c**ts, you can't tell ME to not lie to my children about Santa and then tell me that I have to pretend that trans women and biological women are the same. This is fucking antiChristian. Simple as. They layer their hate behind this thinly veiled compassion, but they aren't inclusive. These hypocritical trash heaps are no better than anyone they criticize.>> <<@morgangallowglass8668 says : Merry Christmas!>> <<@sv8645 says : I took the stance of not feeding our kids bullshit. That means we told kids who Santa was, and never made it a thing. We also told them to respect that other kids would believe in him. Did we fail our kids? Obviously, yes. Do we feel bad about it? Absolutely not. In fact, as a conservative, my comfort lies in the fact that they’ll bring my wife and I up during their counseling sessions. I love most of these opinions from Bearing, but Santa always felt like a precursor of ‘trust the science’ and ‘don’t question the status-quo’, instead of think for oneself.>> <<@melainewhite6409 says : If I have an opinion on something like McKenzie, will all these newspapers from thousands of miles away disseminate it for me too?>> <<@JohnA... says : I actually agree with McKenzie on this one. I'm against lying to your kids, especially in situations where there are no reasons at all for it. You should not develop a relationship where your children at some point don't think they can trust you because you were willing to lie to them when you could have instead told them that you love them and just want to be able to give them something nice. You are supposed to be their care takers and there to teach them reality and the world around them, it doesn't do them any good to intentionally create a fantasy in this way, and this make believe is no better than the mothers dressing their little boys up as girls be THEY want the fantasy. If you don't tell this lie to your kids they don't know any better, they will only know their parents are doing this for them and won't experience that letdown when they realize Santa was just a lie, especially the ones where Santa was used as a prod to get them to behave a certain way. Xmas can still be about family and everything else without the weird fat dude that likes bouncing random children on their laps in some mall and the make believe around it. I don't see that as "woke" in the least, its just being a parent that doesn't want to risk the trust they are developing with their children over something stupid. It only comes down to you though, are you willing to lie to your kids because YOU want this fantasy? Are you capable enough parents to have a loving Xmas celebration without the odd fat guy around? And you aren't "ruining" a kids Xmas if you don't tell the lie to being with, everything else stays the same except your kids grow up thinking its YOU that is giving them something nice instead of some magical stranger. Side effect your kids might grow up with a little more situational awareness because YOU have a reason to explain to them earlier on not to go around asking the poor kids why Santa didn't bring them any nice gifts that maybe they weren't good enough and there is less pressure on said parents in bad situation to do something besides have a loving family time during the Holiday season when all the other kids are bragging about "Santa" getting them stuff. And all of you in the comments saying things about multiple "genders", yeah you shouldn't be teaching your kids that nonsense, but you are willing to lie about something even YOU don't think is real so who is the better parent there?>> <<@bethia9548 says : I personally won’t be telling my children that Santa is a real person. I’ll portray him as a spirit of Christmas that represents the joy of giving and that he’s real if you believe in him and give lovingly. I just don’t want to lie about him being real so they have a window to think I’ve lied about other things.>> <<@kenstr321 says : Yeah, I donno. I mean I definitely want my kids to experience that magic feeling when you're a kid. That gifts just appeared because I had been such a good boy. Thing is Santa never seemed to get the things I put on my list. I've always been into computers and mostly that's what I asked for... Santa always got me a bike, or some toys I really didn't care about. I'd notice my parents make excuses for Santa, "oh, he's got a lot of kids to get presents for." Yet my friends would get what they wanted. Then I found out how much computers cost when I was growing up... in the 80's... But then I thought, wait a second. If he's buying other people the things they want, yet I needed to make my requests more "realistic"? Maybe it's not "Santa" that's having to worry about the financial end of gift giving... it was my parents. So yeah, I figured out pretty early what was going on. I don't feel my parents betrayed my trust. They just wanted to know what I really wanted. Which I never would tell them cause I knew it'd make them feel bad they couldn't give their child the things they wanted. I always thought that was a good feeling to have about the whole process. It's not about human/God babies being born, it's not about fueling raw naked capitalism (though it doesn't hurt it ether). It's about coming together at the darkest time of the year... or the longest if you're down under... and offering each other some of the prosperity or grief we've had throughout the year. I don't think you need Santa for that. (But couldn't hurt it ether).>> <<@mikethelover69 says : Santa real in spirit and my kids and i still believe in him>> <<@LilacMonarch says : When I was getting toward I think the end of elementary school, I started noticing issues with Santa like how every time "Santa" showed up at a mall or party or whatever, he looked quite different. And sometimes looked suspiciously like someone else I knew. Upon bringing this up to my mom, she said something like "oh his elves take his place to help him out" which at that point I didn't believe for a second but I was just like "ok" and went along with it anyway. Because it was still fun. At the same time I realized he wasn't real, I also understood why the "lie" was kept up. It was just fun make believe. The same stuff I did with friends at the playground. This "parenting expert" sounds like a real pleasure to be around.>> <<@TheSpankingMonkeys says : Some people are miserable f**ks.>> <<@crazychick33333 says : From all these comments it appears it’s more acceptable to condition our children to lie. How many of us our Christian’s???? How do we expect our children to believe everything we tell them about Jesus once they discover we lied about santa?>> <<@condew6103 says : Sounds like a formula for creating even more fragile children. Where part of Halloween is learning to deal with fear, the Santa myth is a gentle introduction to the idea that sometimes people you trust lie.>> <<@batmaninc2793 says : Christmas is Christ’s Mass.>> <<@eloquentsarcasm says : The world is a cruel, cold, shitty place, those few precious years we have as children are the only happy spots we get. Let the damn kids have their make-believe bunnies and jolly fat guys for a few years before they get smashed over the head with puberty, mean kids, crushing disappointment, and a lifetime of never finding happiness.>> <<@falseofdoom7919 says : I've played Santa for years now. 2 years ago the grand kids saw me and chased me, I twisted my ankle but still got away and ran up stairs and changed real quick. The grand kids pointed out that Santa had a twisted ankle as well.>> <<@paddlesmcbean2366 says : Merry Christmas.>> <<@scottmaple2340 says : You're an idiot apparently you don't even know it woke is>> <<@robanderson473 says : Influencers.... bunch of wankers! 😝>> <<@nickmanzo8459 says : The Protestant Reformation tried to cancel Santa Claus by inventing the Kristkindle, and all it did was give him a new nickname. I clicked on ur channel and went to this video. I didn't tell everyone at school. Of course I was a loner, so maybe my input carries no weight. Lol>> <<@Invictus357 says : It amuses me that every other Christian celebration isn’t “celebrated” by non Christian’s, but Christmas, and Easter is. Christians celebrate the birth, and Death of Jesus Christ, non-Christian’s just piggyback on the Christian beliefs. Merry Christmas everyone, and may God keep you safe over the festive season, and for the New Year. And if you don’t believe, get back to work.>>
