The problem is Cenk doesn't word things well (no offense). It is not that Republicans consciously like criminals or want to be lied to. The issue is Cenk is being more psychologically deep. My degree is in psychology...Cenk is correct that subconsciously they want to be lied to so they don't have to face the fear of truth and they are hypocritical and self thinking. Ana this is actually a fact proved by psychologists that Conservatives are chemically in their brains moved more by personal experiences (emotionally) and Liberals are moved more by logic and empathic thinking (i.e out of the box factual based). This is a fact and truth about the difference of actual brain chemistry. Of course as Ana says if some Republicans were given better information they would change...Ana most wouldn't change. The only way to change Republicans is not by facts or information but somehow getting them to emotionally understand a point. This is much more of a challenge. I think Ana it is because u are so logical that u think if just goven correct information everyone would understand like u. Cenk on the other hand is more emotional and grew up with religious zealots so understands emotions can't unfortunately be broken by pure logic and information. As an extremely logical non emotional thinker this took me YEARS to understand about the Right wing part of my family and all the Right wingers most of my life I have been surrounded by...ordinary Right wingers...not Politicians which yes is a different conversation. The voters drive the party and as Tucker Carlson said we have to lie to them or we will lose viewers! In my experience cultural wars are actually waged by Republican voters. Many Right wingers in my life genuinely WANT a white supremacy fundamentalist approach to society. Ana thesse people aren't as good as u want to believe. U have to consider maybe as a liberal the truth is too scary also...i.e. evilness is more prevalent than u think. Not majority...but the minority is a higher percentage than one would like. During Hilter's reign there were way more percentage wise evil people than u realize. When given power over harming others more than u would expect are willing to choose power despite harm to others than u would expect. This was a psychological study. Sad but truthful.
